In a bold new generation, the Mercedes-Benz A-Class is back to bring you excitement and convenience in equal measure. It shows off the finest Mercedes-Benz engineering and technologies to lead the premium hatchback class.
Trademark A-Class lines continue to define the hatchback, including the line flowing through from the headlights and over the bonnet. Daytime running lights are built into the expressive Xenon headlights, with indicators similarly integrated with the heated door mirrors. Chrome-look finishes at the waistline and the front apron give the car a more vibrant look.
The instrument panel has been redesigned and condensed into a prominent touchscreen positioned close to the steering wheel. USB and MP3 compatibility for the audio system enables you to create your own sensory environment with your favourite driving music.
Trim level options with the new A-Class are: SE, Sport, AMG Line and Motorsport Edition. There are also two high-performance AMG versions of the car. An impeccable standard is set with full Artico leather upholstery, Thermatic air conditioning and a reversing camera in the entry-level SE model. Upgrade to Sport to enjoy the advantages of automatic rain-sensing windscreen wipers and Dynamic Select driving modes.
The choice between potent diesel and petrol engines is one for all drivers to appreciate. The fluid Mercedes-Benz six-speed manual and seven-speed automatic transmissions remain options across the engine range. Non-AMG versions generate as much as 156bhp, taking the A-Class from 0-60mph in close to eight seconds.
As much as 80.7mpg combined is achievable by the diesel model, with the petrol version claiming up to 55.4mpg combined. The standard SE car cuts CO2 emissions to the lowest possible levels – as little as 89g/km.
As previous version of the A-Class have been awarded a five-star safety rating by Euro NCAP, the new generation is naturally expected to follow suit. Every equipment level includes Attention Assist fatigue monitoring, surrounding airbags, an active bonnet, and ISOFIX child seat attachments.
The seven-inch media display is where you can now discover a world of clever Mercedes-Benz technologies. At higher trim levels, the screen also increases to an eight-inch diagonal. Mercedes connect me is a new system for the A-Class, incorporating reassuring accident recovery and emergency call capabilities.
